Private Quality Certificate and Private Individual Certificate
Your Digital Signature Qualified Certificate
These types of certificates are intended for the individual identification of a person who wants to sign documents and authenticate before third parties and may include a title or professional mention.
There are two types of private qualified certificates:
Private Quality – contains the identification information of a person and their title or professional mention – e.g., an architect or an engineer who wants to authenticate and sign with the associated title.
Private Individual – contains only one person´s identifying information – for example, a foreign citizen who wants to authenticate and sign digitally.
Private Quality
Especially used by sole proprietors, who are self-employed to:
- Sign with professional title
- Submit proposals on the Public Procurement Electronic Platforms
- Sign proposals, contracts, and other documents with the professional title
- Sign documents for IMPIC/INCI and the Court of Auditors
When do I need a Private Quality Certificate?
- I am self-employed and I need a certificate to sign invoices
- I need a certificate to sign invoices and I am a sole proprietorship
- I am a sole proprietorship and I need to compete in a Public Tender
- I am a sole proprietorship and I need to submit proposals on the Public Procurement Electronic Platforms
- I need to sign a proposal and work on my own

- I need to sign documents at IMPIC/INCI and I work on my own

Private Individual
Especially used by foreign citizens to sign documents and to authenticate before:
- Digitally sign transactions and documents, with legal evidential value
- Sign documents at IMPIC/INCI and the Court of Auditors
- Submit proposals on the Public Procurement Electronic Platforms
When do I need a Private Individual Certificate?
- I want a certificate to sign documents for the Court of Auditors, only with my personal data identical to the citizen card
- I need a qualified certificate to sign documents under my name and which only contain my personal data
- I want a certificate to sign documents at IMPIC/INCI, containing my personal data identical to the citizen card
- I need to submit proposals on the Public Procurement Electronic Platforms
What do I need to get my Certificate?
Consult documentation required to issue your Certificate and clarify about the acquisition and use of Digital Certificates:
Documentation
- Contract of issuance of the certificate signed by the titleholder (*)
- Cross copy of identification documents(Identity Card, Citizen card, Passport) of the holder
- In the case of a Private Quality Certificate, a document attesting to the quality (e.g., Individual Entrepreneur, Architect, Engineer (**)
(*) Signed with:
- Qualified electronic signature by the holder
- Handwritten signature recognized in person by a lawyer, notary, or solicitor
- Handwritten signature according to the identification document made in person at Multicert facilities
(**) You must send us proof of the Activity Data taken from the Finance Portal; or a legal document if you belong to a Professional Order or Professional Organization
